Shortly before Christmas, we became obsessed with Nerf weaponry - to the extent that the interaction of face and dart needed to be set down in an organized, agreed upon way. It really hasn't worked. As is the way with rules, all we've managed to do is highlight those behaviors which are most delicious - and then dare a person to try them.
You can take Nerf very, very seriously, provided you can overlook the foam ordnance and blaring neon chamber. Modifications for stock weapons (above and beyond your cosmetic improvements) are incredibly diverse, everything from tension spring replacements to a custom "burstcap" round whose nub marks the target with a tablespoon of hyrdrochloric acid.
We have come to rely upon the Maverick for day in/day out foam combat, but we are considering a couple Nite Finders to serve as "go-to" sidearms. Gabriel purchased the Rapid Fire awhile back, a twenty shot air-pump gatling contraption which is certainly intimidating but one rarely has time to reload it when harmless sucker-tips or haunting whistlers begin to fly.
I haven't seen commercials of any kind for a very long time, so maybe my resistance is just low - but I had a dream about the N-Strike Unity System last night after seeing the video. I too want to coalesce from the shadows and bring death. Or, welts. In any event, I want to shoot Robert. He's made it clear, however, that if the arms race escalates to foam rocket launchers, he will leave the company. I'm mulling it over.
I've had a chance to play an almost stupid amount of Oasis since last we spoke, enough to see something almost like a Minesweeper RPG within it. Understand that by that point, my eyes had been open for several hours without blinking.

it's something that daisies all do
Donations are still trickling in but we’re going to go ahead and call Child’s Play 2005 a done deal at this point. You managed to raise $590,000 in toys and cash for Children’s Hospitals all over the world. Let me say that again, you guys raised over half a million dollars in the space of just a few months. At a time when everyone was talking about “donation fatigue” you guys really dug deep.
I picked up DOA 4 when it dropped last week and I think it’s the best fighting game for the 360. Yes that was a joke. Honestly I’ve never been a fan of the DOA series. It’s always looked great and the 360 version is no exception. In fact it’s probably the best looking game on the 360 in my opinion. DOA is actually a lot more fun to watch then it is to play. This is apparently something Tecmo understood as they were kind enough to include an option for watching two computer controlled fighters go at it. The online functionality is certainly appealing but I’d much rather see it attached to a fighting game franchise I like, say Soul Calibur or Virtua Fighter.
Have you seen the “Blamimations” that Scott and Kris have been putting up over at PvP? I couldn’t stop laughing at these fucking things. Honestly I think it’s the funniest shit I’ve ever seen over there. The best part is they’re free! Apparently he’ll be posting some tutorials soon so that other web comic creators can start making their own “Blamimations”.
Speaking of webcomics, this is a pretty funny parody of the sort of pretentious twits that have proclaimed themselves stewards of the “new” medium. Just reading his description of the comic had me laughing. This opening line kills me:
"Panel One is a meta-fictional experiment designed to give me a vehicle for exploring a variety of narrative and non-narrative ideas I have about comics and visual storytelling."
The whole thing is just so perfect. He’s really captured what makes these jack asses so ridiculous.
Hmmm...
You know, the more I read it the more I’m not sure it’s a joke.
Shit. I think he might be serious. Ah hell, never mind.
