Descent

Both at Saturday’s LAN party and online, people seem to know how to exit a plane in Battlefield 1942 just fine - however, the parachute phase seems to give them a bit of trouble.  As much fun as it is to sing “It’s Raining Men,” we thought it time for a public service announcement on the topic.

When I was talking about this month being mostly a wash for games, I just couldn’t see past the franchise sports titles to the end of the month - I’d completely forgotten about the sequel to Onimusha.  The last one only hit about a year and a half ago, and even though I knew it was coming at “some point,” I always assumed that “point” was somewhere in the far future.  I loved the original, though.  I don’t usually complain when a game isn’t very long, as long as I enjoyed our special time together - it’s what you do with it, and whatnot - but Onimusha was pretty Goddamn short.  Supposedly there are four playable characters aside from the hero, and you need to manage relationships with them?  Or something?  I’ve kept myself largely in the dark about it, quite on purpose.

Probably the most exciting thing happening this month in gaming is Tom And Jerry’s magnum opus War of the Whiskers.  I’m kidding, please don’t buy it.

Did anyone see that Steve Jackson Games is going to make a PvP version of their board game Frag?  That’s a pretty big deal, in my opinion.  It makes me want to complete my own card game, just so I can compete with Scott in this brave new context.  I won’t stop until you’re made to choose between our sub-orbital doom arrays.

I would like to conclude today’s newspost by giving an enthusiastic shout-out to Drew Kelly.  Thank you.

(CW)TB out.

i don’t mind you coming here
