An in-depth primer on field of view, and why adjusting it isn’t as simple as you think
Most PC gamers like to be able to adjust their field of view, or FOV, but I don't think I've ever really considered how difficult it may be to add that as an option. This is a great look at what field of view is, how adjusting it can be tricky, and the decisions that go into field of view decisions.
It's not really a sexy article, but it's the sort of thing that helps you to understand why certain things are the way they are, and I'll certainly pay attention to the vertical nature of the screen a little bit more from now on. This is the sort of nuts and bolts stuff that's neat when developers share with the community. Give it a read.
