“EA gives you enough rope to hang yourself” BioWare co-founder Zeschuk claims
The start of this interview between Zeschuk and GamesIndustry International starts fairly typical - what are you up to now, what are some similarities and differences, how do you feel, what are you proud of - but roughly one-third of the way through, Brightman starts getting some interesting quotes from the former BioWare general manager. Make sure to check out the section where Zeschuk says EA is a publisher that gives studios "enough rope to hang yourself."
EA has been in the spotlight quite a bit recently, due to everything from "winning" the Consumerist's "Worst Company in America" poll, to having CEO John Riccitielo resign, or EA Labels President Frank Gibeau adamantly sticking to the "no really, SimCity's always-on requirement isn't DRM" argument. Though not the sole focus of this interview, Zeschuk provides some additional perspective to consider.
There's plenty more interesting information as well, including Zeschuk's thoughts on the upcoming consoles from Microsoft and Sony - spoilers: his outlook isn't good - and how responsible The Old Republic was or wasn't in EA's current financial troubles. Check it out.
