Hideo Kojima explains the importance of misleading trailers
Trailers, especially for big-name films, have a tendency to give too much away. But I think Hideo Kojima may have gone too far in the other direction. The journey is interesting, but when it ends with yet another Metal Gear title, will anyone but existing fans of the series care? For a moment we thought that the Phantom Pain could be a new IP, but now it looks like just another sequel. This strategy has a way of backfiring.
