Maxis general manager repeats what we already knew: SimCity is an MMO, could have been offline
We always knew that SimCity could have been offline, we have an entire series of offline SimCity games as proof, but the question was whether the decision to require an always-on connection was a good one, or whether there is ever a good reason for that decision. It's interesting that it took this long for someone at Maxis to basically admit that they created an MMO, but if you're still giving "straight answers" this long after launch, it's clear something went wrong.
Still, if the sales remain strong, all the complaints in the world won't matter. Looking forward to seeing how well, or poorly, the game is doing.
