NDA signed and dated: The Penny Arcade Report tours Bungie
My mother is nearing the age of 60, enjoys taking nice walks in the park, and has lived in a little town near Toledo, Ohio her entire life. However, even she was impressed when I mentioned I was assigned to shoot a tour of ‘that place where they made Halo. Bungie has become a household name with their successful Halo series, but has since broken away to create something entirely new and different. While I’d love to talk and speculate over what that project might be, this peek into one of the most secretive game design studios in the world will have to do.
Led by my helpful tour guide and Bungie’s Community & PR guy, Eric Osborne, I quickly learned that security at Bungie is extremely tight. There was the chance that I’d see or possibly photograph something from their current project that would be considered ‘sensitive’ to the outside world, so I had to sign an NDA to get in the door. I had to surrender my memory cards while they wiped them clean for ‘internal scrubbing’ with promises of my images being sent back to me at a later date to get out. Luckily, Bungie came through on their end of the deal.
