Retro City Rampage creator breaks down his sales on each major platform
It's rare to see someone take you through how many copies of a game they sold on each of the major platforms, but Retro City Rampage creator Brian Provinciano did just that at the Game Developers Conference.
There are no major surprises here, although Steam's supremacy over Xbox Live Arcade seems to be continuing without much resistance, but it's still neat to see how all the services stacked up. It's no small feat to get a small game on this many storefronts, and some them barely seemed like they were worth the effort based on sales, but Provinciano seemed happy to make the fans happy by supporting their favorite platforms, and that's a great long-term strategy.
97,000 copies of a game is a great success for a title of this scope. It's neat to see this information, and I'd love for more developers to be just as transparent.
