Sony may have ditched the PlayStation 4’s camera to beat Microsoft on price
So this is one of those "inside sources" articles, which means you need to get your bullshit detectors out and set them to high, but it all makes sense. What I don't get about this article is IGN's tone implying that this was a bad move.
Gamers don't have much love for motion controls in gaming, and I'd like you to name three games on the Xbox One that you've seen use the new Kinect in a way that makes you excited for the hardware's potential.
Removing hardware that only some players will want in exchange for a lower price is a good move in this climate, and if we're giving up some hand-wavey games in order to get the PlayStation 4 for $400.... well, we're just going to have to live with that.
This has already been an interesting console war, and it's great to see two companies duke it out by making things better for the gamers.
