Psychology of Games
The more you pay for games, the more you’re going to like them (It’s science!)
Our views on items are colored by what we do to get that item, right? How does the price we pay for games change how much we enjoy them? This article takes a look at the psychology behind enjoyment and payment, by talking about an experiment that dealt with asking people to lie for money.
I'm looking forward to the conversation around this one, because I'm not quite sure it's this cut and dry. What I do know is that I'm more willing to spend extra time on games I purchased for full price before abandoning them, even if I'm not having the best time. The higher the initial investment, the more work we're likely to put in before we walk away.
