Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma on the series’ past, future
Wired's Chris Kohler sits down with Zelda series producer, Eiji Aonuma, to talk about the new games in the series, Aonuma's own feelings on his work, and why Wind Waker is a particularly special game to him.
Shigeru Miyamoto is always the designer who gets the praise at Nintendo, but behind him Eiji Aonuma has been quietly doing fantastic work for decades. It's great to be able to hear his voice in this piece, and learn more about his feelings on the series.
He speaks candidly too. He's not just spouting marketing lines to hype the next sequel. More than once he references games in the series he didn't think were very good, aspects of titles that were rushed, or things he wished there was time to do. This is a great read for any fan of past Zelda games, or those who are looking forward to the future Wii U and 3DS releases.
