Xbox One pricing and release date announced, and it’s bad news if you’re not in the US

At their E3 2013 press briefing today, Microsoft announced the pricing and release window for the Xbox One.

Xbox One will be releasing in November on an unspecified date, and will cost $499 in the United States, 499 Euro in Europe and £429 in the UK.

“So everyone just got fucked on the pricing,” said PAR senior editor Ben Kuchera in our live blog. A quick look at the exchange rate for those territories indicates that European and UK consumers will be paying substantially more than those in the United States. Roughly $670 in the UK and $660 in Europe.

Pricing and release date information for other territories was not made available, but it will reportedly launch in 21 territories this year. This isn't a crazy price for the United States, but I'm curious to hear from our readers in other territories.
