I have every faith that I’ve said something very much like if not identical to the last line in
the strip.  I could apologize, I guess, but I’m not 100% sure it isn’t true.

There is a more detailed version of this tale presented in an old post, maybe, what…  fourteen years old at this point?  I have a condition where when I remember things I also feel all the feelings in the memory.  It makes forgiving people very challenging because even if I’ve developed an antibody to, say, a Betrayal, I always feel that first when I go back.

When I think about it today, that is, when I think about her, after whatever is there initially I feel such profound gratitude.  She granted me such a perfect pain, a kind of irreducible liquor of teenage grief that I could just lie in bed and feel.  I wrote terrible poetry and I wrote even worse songs.  It was formative, and the only thing I could do to defeat it was write.  I owe her a lot.  The writer in me has to admit that, yeah.  This is a better ending.

There is so much cool shit going on that I’ve had to invent a whole new method of presenting it.  I’m going to mention them, one at a time, right here in this post.  I don’t know what I’m going to call this novel method of presenting information, it’s all still so new and exciting.  I’ll keep you posted.

- We have our deeply inedible (yet still, somehow, delicious) Summer Treats Pin Set by Gavin up on the store today.  I’m obsessed with it.  And yes, it’s not an illusion: they actually do have the raised gumball-eye type things.  “Pinthusiasm” is generally Gabriel’s domain but I’m obsessed with these iconic representations and, in some primitive part of my mind, long to worship them.

- The latest episode of Acquisitions Incorporated: The “C” Team is up - and what better way to celebrate than with a collaborative cotton “breastplate” cooked up by Gif Wizard @jbrooksdev and our own Dabe Alan, who is sometimes called Dwob Dwob (almost exclusively by me)?

- We need to make room in the warehouse for a bunch of our new ideas, and so we are having a Garage Sale!  That’s correct: a sale, from the Garage, on August 12th.

That’s right - choose your time, grab your ticket, and then watch as your ticket price is effortlessly transformed into an equal amount of credit for the Sale.  Club PA members will be honored with a free Club PA mug, a mark of office which denotes their station.

I have been left completely and entirely alone, abandoned by my Mork, such that he left me with four or so .jpegs and flew away.  Mechanically assisted, obviously.  He didn’t just “throw himself at the ground and miss.”

He was telling me about an Adult Summer Camp, of which there are apparently several, and like so much else that a normal person would do it turns out I don’t have the receptors for it.  So many bedrock concepts that get absorbed in an ambient want by other people, simply… inhaled somehow just accrue on the skin.  Accrue, and ultimately calcify.

I wasn’t good at this when I was a kid, and I’d be even worse at it now.  Even talking about the concept of an Adult Summer Camp sent both of us into terrifying spelunks into our respective larval stages.

In a three strip arc of profound (too) honesty, we will reveal all.

Also!  Come play Ping Pong with us this weekend and test your skills in our inflatable obstacle course among other good times oriented endeavors!!!

PAX South Badges Are Available!

I like all the PAX shows, but PAX South is one of the shows where people bring me beef jerky so it definitely earns a few extra points.  I eat pounds and pounds of jerky at night in bed while I watch The Town with Ben Affleck.  It’s an incredible convention, on and off the showfloor.

Last year also saw the debut of Acquisitions Incorporated there, live on stage - it’s tradition, now, and I can’t wait to bring it back there.  It’s funny, there wasn’t even a “C” Team yet.  My life moves fast and is very strange.  Anyway!  Tickets just went on sale, and South still offers that sweet, sweet 3-Day Pass.

Like the last couple shows, there’s some exclusives you can snag at checkout - Lidija and the Designers have been having some fun with it this time around.  Take a look:

Our Sockstravaganza!

Durable Coasters!

The Orange variant of our cool dice sets from Level Up Dice!

I got a couple PAXes to do before this one, but I’m already dreaming of PAX South, and the beef harvest that accompanies it.

Destiny 2 is - I don’t think this is a spoiler, because it’s the whole point of the game - the part where the hero drags themselves up out of the Underworld.  I suspect you won’t drag yourself up for very long; optimally, the buttons on your controller do things in a game, though there are some notable iconoclasts.

I got into it so late, compared to most of the people I know; I got in when the getting was very, very good, with the House of Wolves DLC.  I made partner - whatever the Destiny equivalent is, I guess I was Raid Ready - in what felt like twenty minutes.  The first time I ever did Vault on Hard I got Aspect of Glass, which is the only thing I wanted anyway.  I’m like those people who play Oblivion or Skyrim and fill all the shelves with books, except it’s Destiny and Spaceships.  I’m also the person who plays Oblivion or Skyrim, gets a house, and then fills all the shelves with books.

Either way: losing your light seems like something you’d see a commercial about, one where there a lot of slo-mo cuts about halfway through where people do “normal things.”

Hey!  We’re still trying to fill out some Ping-Pong brackets for this weekend’s Child’s Play Summer Faire, which will be rad and fun and you should go.  We’ve got levels of competition going so you don’t have to face Soviet Twin Supersoldiers.  Unless you want to - we’ve got tourneys for Kids, Garage, and Hardcore, along with tons of other non-pong diversions and trucks whose only purpose is to provide food.  Come out and see us!
