Now that Jump Space - née Jump Ship - is out in Early Access, I've been crewing voidcraft with the Krahulik family and eventually arriving at some kind of success. It has the by now universal Slay The Spire map, where you go to different icons and stuff related to the icons happens, except you're going to them with your friends inside a spaceship that has roughly the same structural integrity as a piñata. You play as the candy in a space piñata, and wicked roboids want to chomp. Mork and I play the game as the below decks crew while Gabriel the Younger pilots the craft and and Kara is in the gunnery seat. Both of those positions lock you into external views, so it's often the case that fires will break out five feet away from them and they aren't aware of it. They have no idea what's going on below decks either and frankly it's for the best.
Because the Distaff Faction of the Brahe Clan are wretched and bubbling crockpots of disease, my attempt to care for them has brought me into whatever level of Hell this is. It has created an entirely new status effect called the "Hot-Colds" and I have the maximum number of stacks. I'm up at weird times clicking on shit and I think you might should click on some o' them there same thangs.
- The MENACE demo just hit - I've been keeping and eye on it because it's from the Battle Brothers people, a storied tray of tactics charcuterie that has become something like a living document over the years. The MENACE demo sees them transition to the Third Dimension, with a thesis that is something like "what if XCOM were torrid kink." It feels mean and nasty; it reminds me of a skirmish wargame I've been playing called BLKOUT which is made by men for whom War is not an abstract concept. Take a look.
- In the past, I've exhorted you to "check out my gravel pit." Now, I entreat you to experience CloverPit, a similarly mysterious cavity. I always hoped that Luck Be A Landlord would become a genre, and it has. Situated somewhere between Luck Be A Landlord and the creepshow rabbithole of Inscryption, it sees players customizing a Satanic slot machine in order to stay alive. It also has some elite bundle collabs at launch, with Inscryption itself and even Balatro. I'm trying to imagine someone who would read this site and hasn't played either of those other two, but if such a person does exist you're about to be fucking paid, Steve.
(CW)TB out.
