God willing and the creek don’t rise, Gabe’s Sticker Shoppe should be launching this week on Thursday the 25th. This will essentially be an Etsy shop inside the main Penny Arcade store where Club Penny Arcade members will be able to shop for unique handmade stickers designed by me!
Let me show you the process! Get ready for lots of photos, if they are good Dabe took them. Once I’ve designed the sticker we print them using a Canon IP8720 inkjet printer. Kara then takes this sheet and applies the laminate.
This can be clear but more often we like to use fun laminates with holographic designs in them. This one is a simple rainbow pattern.
Once the laminate has been applied we feed it into the Cricut machine. I’m using the Cricut Joy Xtra for this process. This cuts out the stickers using a “kiss cut” that cuts the first layer of the sticker paper but not the second. It took a bit of trial and error to get this part just right but now I’m very happy with the “peel feel” of our stickers.
The first sticker pack available on Gabe’s Sticker shoppe will be the Gabe and Tycho Babies sticker sheet 4.5”x6.5”, the Jim Dark Magic and doves sticker 3.5”.3” and a little pack of free random stickers we have made. Each order is packed here at the Krahulik household and includes a signed thank you card.
If your order has a silver Merch sticker on it that means you got the first order we ever packed!
For our first pack we have made 100 of these and they will be available to Club PA members when the shop opens on the 25th. This first pack will retail for $10 and will be followed by another pack available around February 1st with some fun valentines stickers and Green Flame Omin. Our goal is to release one of these packs every month this year and if they prove to be popular we will increase our run sizes!
Again, this homemade sticker store will only be available to Club PA members of any level simply because of the limited quantities. There will be a section of the regular Penny Arcade store that also features these same designs (and more designs by me) professionally printed with different finishes and other slight alterations that anyone will be able to purchase. I believe my bespoke sticker shoppe will launch first but it will be followed closely by the regular store. I highly recommend picking up a sticker book to store your collection. These have special pages that allow for stickers to be moved around or traded a few times easily without losing their stickyness.
We will also have our own Penny Arcade sticker book arriving early this year if you can hold out.
2024 is the year of stickers and I’m already thinking about fun stuff we can do like scratch and sniff or glow in the dark.
