Cold Stone is generally a dessert, but it can also be a meal - the one by us will fold forest mushrooms, prosciutto, Black Forest ham, and gravy ice cream into a savory mass. This kind of versatility is what makes it so core to our Identity as a people.
4 Heroes Of Light has been pretty bizarre thus far. Earning, owning, and wearing hats has been just as satisfying as I imagined it would be, but you can make assumptions about the game based on its inviting art and young protagonists that are not borne out by the trail of tears ultragrind it’s got lurking just behind the pastels. At this point, it’s sort of cantankerous, which isn’t necessarily bad - it’s just set in its ways. Don’t know where to go? Never ready for a boss you arrive at during the course of normal play? Want to play with your entire party? Tough tits.
Trying to get multiplayer going is a challenge, I assume that (like DQIX) it’s not really meant to be introductory, but there’s got to be a way to play these games with your friends that is easier than they way they’re doing it. I appreciate that there is an entire game there to be played alone, but I’m always so tantalized by the multiplayer possibilities in these miniature JPRGs and the reality is almost always spare change.
Some kind of NDA broke yesterday, because now we’re all up to our asses in Gears of War. I like Gears of War, so it’s okay, even if some of the stuff was strange. If you’ve ever been in a EB and seen a Gears of War novel, wondering who would buy such a thing let alone read it, with their eyes, that’s me.
I am the one who does that.
Some of the news doesn’t make sense, though, and it makes me wonder to what extent this information dump existed as a dialogue as opposed to a kind of marketing communion, where they simply place the information directly in the writer’s mouth. I’ve been to things like this, and it’s almost impossible to get a word in edgewise. When you do speak, they cock their heads like dogs. What is that sound? They don’t know what that sound is.
I really, really would like to know how a game can have both “dedicated servers” and “host migration.” Someone please tell me how dedicated servers migrate. Are they like birds? Beyond that, losing two multiplayer modes and adding respawns to one of the most harrowing competitive modes ever conceived - harrowing precisely because of your single, precious life - doesn’t really seem like something to celebrate.
