The Penny Arcade iRacing league continues to grow as we enter its second year of operation. The league has over 300 drivers now and a regular schedule of events all week long. I always drop in for the Thursday night race which you can watch tonight on Twitch starting at 7:30PT!
Our Thursday night races recently got a lot cooler thanks to a partnership with the folks over at iRacing itself. Whoever manages to win our Thursday night league race gets a slot in the official Off-Road All-Star race the following Wednesday. This is a major event hosted by iRacing and featuring honest to God real world race car drivers! The last two weeks we’ve had someone representing the league in the race and it’s been awesome to hear the announcers call out the “driver from Penny Arcade”.
My son Gabe has also been hard at work building out a new addition to the Gabir Motors website called the Pit Wall. During a race this page will be alive with realtime information from the race. You can keep an eye on my fuel level, speed, and even how hard I am pushing on the pedals! Now the Pit Crew on Twitch actually has all the info they need to help me manage my race and it’s been great relying on you guys to help me sort out pit strategies!
If you’d like to join the Pit Crew on Twitch, tonight’s race schedule looks like this:
7:30PT- Open Practice on the track for the league.
8:00- Join race server and a bit more time for practice.
8:20- Qualifying. Your best lap determines your grid position.
8:30- Race Start!
9:00-Race ends and we show off the custom paint jobs everyone made in a livery parade.
Tonight we are racing GT3’s at the Twin Ring Motegi GP which is a brand new track for us. I’m going to try and check it out this afternoon but I have a busy day today. I’ll be relying on the practice sessions tonight to really figure it out. Wish me luck and I’ll see you on the track tonight!
